Junkin' In Munroe

It has been so cold here in Georgia over the last couple of weeks and we have been in hibernation mode. I called the girls earlier this week and said let's get out and let's go junkin'! This is always a good way to cheer ourselves up.
We went to Munroe where there are lots of old Cotton Mills and cotton storage buildings, perfect for housing lots of antiques and "junk".
Our first stop was a place called the Cotton Bin, just off South Broad Street in Old Downtown Munroe.
This was such a lovely place to shop. All of the booths are done so beautifully and all were so different. Here is one of my favorites. Her handmade pillows and things were exquisite.
The old cotton mill buildings are great, but we forgot one important thing for this trip. It was really cold inside those buildings. It is almost impossible to heat them enough to be comfortable. We should have brought heavier jackets and sweaters. Rubbing our hands together to get warm and dashing outside into the sun every now and then helped. We muddled through and had a ball!
Here is my "Junkin' Posse" warming up at lunch. We went to the Butcher Block in town for hot soup and sandwiches. Yum.
I did not buy much yesterday. They had lots of goodies, but not much of what I was looking for. So for $12.00, I shopped, I had lunch and a had great time with the girls! We are already planning our next junkin event. You never know where we will end up!

Glad you had a nice afternoon out! It reached 37 degrees today in Ohio - that's a heat wave so my sister and I went bummin (no junkin just lunch and a new bookstore). It's so nice sometimes just to hang with friends. Have a great weekend.

Tammy, junking with friends is the best and I'm so glad that you shared your jaunt with us. I love to see what's inside shops in other areas of the country. I'm sure you gals shared lots of laughter and fun that day. Glad you got out of the house for some fun! xo Julie

Oh my it looks like you girls have a great time! I come from a long line of "junkers"! My granma Jessie "junked" all month long then opened her store the first three days of the month to sell what she collected. This went on for years. She loved garage sales, too. I tried to beat her at that game when I went on a search for a race car bed for my son. I found one...then a closer look revealed a sign on it that said "sold - Jessie". She was my Junk Queen for sure. I'll have to settle for princess. Thank you for your comment on my blog. I hope you continue to explore photography. You'll find many things to shoot while out on your "junkspeditions"... I'll look forward to your posts!
