Trunk or Treat!

Many of the local churches in middle Georgia put on Fall Festivals this time of year or have "Trunk or Treats." The church members donate their time, cars and candy in the church parking lot and the community children get to trunk or treat in a safe environment. Many go all out decorating their trunks and dress up to make it fun for the kids. Don't adjust your screens... the wig is really this color.
Here she is, our little Daphne. As some of you know, Shelby is just crazy about Scooby-Doo. So since seeing this costume, we have been all about dressing up to be Daphne. I will have to say, that she is just too cute in all that hair and NO ONE had a costume remotely close to this get-up. She is just grinning from ear to ear in this costume. I thought she wouldn't keep the wig on all night, but she leaves it on and keeps asking if it looks good. True girl!
I was absolutely surprised by the number of children and parents who knew exactly who she was, both as Daphne and Shelby. She carried her favorite Scooby-Doo bag that Miss Luz made for her and brought home lots of goodies in it. We are expecting rain on Saturday for Halloween so me may not be able to trick or treat. If not, she has at least gotten the chance to wear her costume and get some treats.
Here she is with her school teacher, Ms. Mathews and one of her school mates. They love their teacher. We ran into her at the church last night with her daughter and grand daughter. The kids just took off and practically tackled her when they saw her. It is nice to see them adore her so. Ms. Mathews always makes the biggest fuss over them and hugs them each goodbye each day. I hope all her teachers will be so caring over the years.
I hope you all have a wonderful time with your little spooks, fairies and super heroes this Halloween. I look forward to seeing all your kids in their costume choices this year.

BOO y'all!

Getting Ready for New Moon

We are getting ready to see New Moon!! My friend Trina has gotten us 10 tickets to a private party viewing of New Moon. At midnight on Nov. 20th we will be joining a small group to watch the movie when it is released.
Trina's friend in Macon is the head of this shindig and she calls the group the "Alice Cullen Party Planners." She has arranged this private showing at the movie theater with door prizes, trivia contests, costume contests and more. The 9 of us girls, plus my hubby will be going in our Twilight/New Moon T-Shirts ready for a great time.
All of the trailers for this second movie look really good. It is our hope that the movie is better than the first. If it isn't we'll have a great time together and looking at Robert Pattinson won't be any hardship. Go Team Edward!! I will be sure to take lots of pictures and tell you all about or New Moon Evening.

The Spiders are Busy

One morning when we headed out to feed the ducks, it had cooled down considerably. It was very wet outside and condensate on everything. The closer we got to the gate, there were glistening cob webs everywhere.
Each web had tiny beadlets of water that clung to each string. The webs were beautiful to see.
If the weather had been different, we would have walked right by these stringy creations and not enjoyed the spiders hard work. Halloween is everywhere it seems. Enjoy the spooky week ahead. Wait until you see my little one in her costume. You will get a good laugh.

BOO Girl and Halloween Pics

This is my little BOO Girl. She was a kit made by Cindy at Junque Art. This was a really fun kit to put together and Cindy had the cutest step by step instructions and even sent some Halloween candy with it.
She will have a place in my studio with the Halloween tree I have up there. Here are some pictures of some of our Halloween goodies this year.
Angela, your music wreath is gorgeous for all seasons!
I hope that you are all enjoying this spooky season!

Mickey was Great!

The reaction to the Surprise! We picked up the little miss after school and gave her the good news. She was so excited. So, we kissed Daddy goodbye and headed south to see Mickey!
We had the dress and the ears!
Our make-up was on!
Some girl talk with Cinderella.
Laughing and goofing around in Minnie's house.
Showing attitude for having to pose for another picture!
Driving already.
Hanging in the trees at the Animal Kingdom.
Dinner in a car at the Sci-Fi Drive In.
We had a great couple of days, but my feet and back hurt from carrying this child too much! Now to recover! See you next year, Mickey.

Tea for Three

Yesterday when we brought Shelby home from school, we had a little tea party. Shelby informed us that we had to wear hats and glasses for the party. So of course we had to get into the spirit of the afternoon!
Shelby took this picture with my camera. Pretty good shot for a 4 year old!
Shelby and her Mimi toasting and saying Ooh La La! We 're Fancy Nancy die hards!
Mimi is helping Shelby spread some jelly on her cracker. The perfect tea time snack.
After the real tea party we then had to play this:
This is the Tea Party Game by a company called eeBoo. They make wonderful learning games. The first one to collect the tea setting and treats wins. So guess who won....
She wins everytime. The little one is in for a big surprise tomorrow.
Mimi and Mommie are taking her to this magical place, again! We never tire of it. See you when we get back!

Ole'

The C.L.O.G. got together for our last supper club dinner for the summer a few weekends ago. We decided to do a dinner in the round. Three of us ladies hosted for cocktails and appetizers, dinner and dessert. The theme was a Mexican Fiesta!
Our first stop of the night was at Stan and Annette's house. We had Sangria, Margarita's, Southwestern Crisps and Mexican Potato bites.
Annette decorated her house cute with Mexican flag banners, and red chile peppers.
Here is Stan, our Margarita maker for the night. They were delicious. Stan got into the evening. At their house he wore this bandana with red chile peppers and then at my house he switched to a straw hat.
Trina and I toasting our first margarita's, or was it our 3rd???
After cocktails, we walked across the lawn to our house for the main course.
The dining room was a blaze of candles everywhere. I decorated the chandelier and the table with bright colors.
Along with the candles, I had fresh flowers and paper ones to liven things up.
Our main course was flank steak fajitas and a layered taco salad. I set up everything buffet style.
The sizzling fajitas came out great. Here is a picture of me and the Mr.
We always have a great time. This group of 8 really enjoys each others company. We left my house and went down around the corner to finish our dinner with dessert at Marla's. We had key lime pie ice cream and Million dollar brownie cream cheese pie. I failed to remember my camera when we left for Marla's. One too many margarita's I guess. Well, the group has decided to continue to meet on some frequency, so we will do our best to get our busy schedules together and come up with some more fun.

"Queen of Friggin' Everything"

Yes, you read that right. No need to go back and reread the post title. If you are a woman, then so are you!!
I wanted to share with you my most recent purchase. This vintage silver spoon was made into a bangle bracelet by a very talented young woman, Ms. Julie from Prairie Thistle. Her etsy store is gardenologykc.
She has hammered the spoon flat, and stamped the words to make this a fun and very unique piece of wearable art. I love the clasp. It is magnetic! The beading is perfect and it is the most comfortable bracelet to wear. Often these pieces can be cute, but not really practical to wear. This is not the case with Julie's creations. I love wearing this piece.
This is a picture of the underside of the bracelet. The roses are just the right feminine touch to this bracelet. I have been following Julie's blog for awhile now and every time I went, I visited her etsy shop and checked out her jewelry. It is hard to pick just one. Go visit Julie at Prairie Thistle and definitely buy one of her pieces of handcrafted jewelry. You will love whatever you choose.
