Carriage House Update

This past May I joined a new business in town called the Carriage House and it has been great fun. I have covered my rent each month and had some left over!! Not bad for my first try at this booth. I have enjoyed sourcing new goodies each month to keep it fresh. Here are the Fall items that I am selling. We are getting ready to have our Grand Opening at the shop so I have stocked up the shelves in hopes for a big crowd. My button jewelry has sold well and all of the vintage bling has been a hit as well.I love these vintage hand towels with the rick rack. They go really well with the perfume bottle and trinket box. My SIL Judy always helps out with the booth and rearranging when we have a new collection. She found the shop for me and I am so glad she did!It always pays to try and spread your wings a little. You never know what you are going to learn and who you are going to meet. Besides making a few bucks and having a good time, I have been lucky enough to meet a great lady and fellow vendor at the Carriage House. Her name is Sherry and she is a fellow blogger, crafter and lover of all things vintage! I can't believe we found each other. She lives right in my own town. Yeah! Sherry's blog is called Sherry's Rose Cottage. It is a lovely site. Please go see her blog and say hi. Sherry is such a southern sweetheart. We instantly clicked with each other. I am so glad to be able to call her my friend. We will have fun antiquing together.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Love,

Tammy

Fun With Big Sister

Shelby's big sister Amber came to visit a few weekends ago from Louisiana. Shelby hadn't seen Amber since last Thanksgiving. She did not leave her sister alone for one minute. Here, Shelby has decorated both herself and Amber with star stickers. Amber was great for humoring her!
We don't get to see Amber enough. She managed to find a weekend before she started back to school. Amber is getting her Master's in Fine Arts (Creative Writing). This semester she also has her first teaching experience as a Teacher's Asistant. We wish her much luck! I have been trying to get her to send me some of her writing so I can post to share with you all. It was fun seeing Shelby have so much fun with Amber! We will miss her until her next visit.

Ready for Sweet Fun!

I am back to blogging and back to a new fall look. I just love the Fall and all of the wonderful things it brings with it! What a perfect time for a swap. My sweet friend Natalea over at Kandeland is hosting her first swap. It is a collaborative book swap called "I Want Candy."
I am busy planning my pages. This will be such a fun book to have. Thanks, Natalea for hosting. I can't wait to see the finished book.
Natalea and I are also doing a Halloween swap together, so she is keeping me very busy. I need to get moving! The due dates will be here before I know it.

I hope you are all finding some fun fall things to do. I have also signed up for this great on-line art retreat:

Sweet Six Studio is an on-line art retreat that you sign up for. For a few bucks you get 12 projects, tutorials, supply lists, etc to make these great art projects. 6 wonderful artists have gotten together and put their talents to work! This promises to be great fun. I can't wait to learn some new techniques and to see what everyone creates. Stay tuned for my creations.

Head over to Sweet Six Studio blog and learn all about it!

Lucky Me!

I am the lucky winner of this gorgeous altered bottle!Karen posted a giveaway on her lovely blog, Karen Eileen to celebrate her 100th post!
I just love this beautiful creation that she made. It is going to look great in my new studio.
This is such a feminine piece. I love the the large decorative heart and all of the rhinestones she added. The millinery delight added to the top just makes this pretty creation. I especially like the pearl spray in the middle. Thank you, Karen for the giveaway and for this work of art that I will always admire and enjoy!
If you haven't visited Karen, you must! She is such a great lady. I found her blog months ago and have been coming back ever since. Go say hi and be sure to see her etsy shop for some of her other creations and antique finds!

Bluebird of Happiness

Whenever Mom comes to visit she always brings me something. She always finds things that she knows I would love. They are always perfect. She is almost as excited as I am to get my new studio up and running. So she brought me these goodies. This is the prettiest glass blue bird that will hang in one of the windows. She had it all nestled in this straw to make it look like a nest.I have never seen a pretty glass bird like this. I can't wait to hang him up for good luck.
If you missed this on the package, Mom said this was to hold me over until I found my real vintage pick-up truck. This would be the perfect color, too! This beauty was the best gift of all. Mom found this in an antique shop in NJ. This body form stands almost as tall as I am and is a pretty green metal. I just love it. I can't wait to decorate it.

It even has a shelf on the bottom here. I just bought an old mirrored tray to fit in there to display some of my goodies.

Many thanks Mom for always thinking of me! You're the Best!

Crowns, Cupcakes and Cutie Pies!

We had such a great time yesterday at Shelby Love's first little girls birthday party.

Shelby just smiled and laughed all day! Come along and see the sweet birthday fun....The princess invitations were delivered...The porch was decorated along with the the party table ready for 8 little princesses. Each little party goer had their very own crown and cupcake place card when they sat down.
All of the loot bags were heavy with lots of goodies and treats!
The birthday princess awaited her guests in her lovely birthday dress. She looked so sweet!
The Birthday Princess posed for a picture with the Queen Mother. We managed to wear this lovely dress for about a half hour. Once she saw the other friends had arrived in bathing suits, she wanted hers on too. Oh Well! The princesses all arrived and were excited for the birthday fun. All of the girls were so sweet and very patient waiting for me to put out the cupcakes and ice cream. The treats began with these darling cupcakes. The girls just gasped when they saw the ballerinas. These were the biggest ballerinas ever. I bought them from Andrea at 100 Wishes and they were fantastic. We sang Happy Birthday and Shelby sang too! Mommie only made it through the first verse then I had all to do not to cry! My little girl is growing so fast. She is so in her element with all of her friends and all of the attention heaped on her. LOLAfter cake and ice cream we played "Pin the Fairy on the Flower." Everyone joined in and won a candy bracelet for playing. Shelby had never played before but got right into it. She at least hit the paper.
Then to the good stuff, opening the presents! What wonderful gifts she received from all of her friends.
It was finally time to swim. It was so hot yesterday I thought we would melt. Everyone played very nicely together and all of the girls said thank you to me and Shelby. We had a really fun day.
When the party was over and everyone was gone, Shelby dried off from the pool and headed back to the porch for her goodies. She headed for one bag. The bag with the Cinderella costume. She stayed in this dress all night. She truly is a princess. We ended the special day with alot of bling. I had so much fun planning this little event, but I am glad we are done. We have been so busy all summer and are getting ready again for more company. By August 19th, the company will have all returned to their respective states, Shelby will have started back to preschool and Mama will be in her new studio!
Thanks for sharing this special day with us!
Love,
Tammy
