Eat, Drink and BE Merry, with Friends!!!

It was our third year of celebrating together! We are a group of 8 that are friends and neighbors and we enjoy getting together and having a blast.  This year our host and hostess were Marla and Paul.  We have been taking turns hosting the annual Christmas soiree!!  I brought some Christmas Punch along with martini glasses decorated with a paper charm, berries and twine.
I have included the recipe below for all of you that may like pomegranate and cranberry spiked with plenty of spirits.  It is called Christmas Punch and I got the recipe from Martha Stewart Holiday Magazine from last year.
Here is Trina and Annette enjoying the punch. It certainly makes everyone smile a bit more!
The guys, Stan, Don and Hal.
Our Hostess, Marla in her beautiful kitchen.
These beautiful cakes were made by Trina and Annette.  They were a tiramisu cake and red velvet cake.  YUM!!

 Me and Nette.
The 4 amigos.  We try to see each other as much as we can.  We often go to breakfast after we drop the kids off and catch up.  These are the girls that I see everyday, at the school, picking up the kids, at after school play dates, etc.  We are in the trenches everyday and I am happy that we have each other to rely on and to lean on when necessary.  They are the best!!!

We are planning a trip to NYC in the Spring.  We have talked about it for a little while, but we are going to make it happen.  Marla surprised us with these fun charm bracelets that have a NYC theme.  Can't wait to plan the trip and GO!!  Thanks again, Marla.  We had a great time!!

Christmas PUNCH

Serves 8 (I make a double batch)

2 cups chilled unsweetened pomegranate juice
1 cup chilled cranberry juice
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (2-3 lemons)
1 cup vodka
1 cup Cointreau or other orange flavored liqueur
1 cup chilled club soda (I add a bit more)
1/2 cup simple syrup (bring a 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water to a boil in small saucepan. Stir until sugar dissolves.  Let cool)
Frozen cranberries for garnish

Combine all juices, vodka, Cointreau, club soda and simple syrup.  Add a few frozen cranberries to glasses and serve.
