The First Signs of Some Christmas Spirit

Despite my slow start to get into Christmas this year, my very busy 4 year old kept after me the last couple of days to please put up the tree. At age 4, she is really into everything this year and is so excited about Santa and the tree and of course, all of the presents. I was thrilled to have a helper this year.
Her excitement is contagious and I thank her immensely for that! She helped place all of the ornaments. We learned that bigger ones go on the bottom, little ones on the top and medium sized in the middle. She did an excellent job. I am proud of myself for letting her just put things where she wanted.
Every ornament we opened was her "favorite."
She was very careful, but we did have one casualty. A small price to pay to enjoy this with her.
As you can see, she was very proud of her work. We called it a night, because it was past her bed time. We will finish tomorrow afternoon and maybe put a few lights around the front door and in the front yard. Don remembered to catch us in tree trimming action tonight on the video camera. She is growing so fast. We need to do more filming.
I hope you all are enjoying the season so far. We are off to a good start!

How fun! I was thinking about the days when Chelsea will be able to help with all the holiday decor. Not that I'm wishing the years away - time is already going too fast! Your tree looks fabulous and Shelby is just glowing!

Shelby is the cutest! I let my kids decorate the tree this year too. Usually we have a tree upstairs for them and they have tons of Disney ornaments on it and then one is downstairs but this year I just couldn't get it together so I let them have at it on the downstairs tree.

There's nothing like seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child.

Isn't this the best age? I can totally relate! It wouldn't be the same without the 4 year old Christmas spirit! xo natalea

Oh she looked like she had such a great time! I let my girls have "free reign" with the tree this year. It was hard but they really enjoyed it. Now I just have to get the outdoor light up! But it's only been in the 20's here all week...
