My Baby is Going to School

It is official. Shelby is registered to attend the 4K preschool program in Jones County. She will go to school 5 days a week from 8:15 - 2:45. They go all day at age 4. They start them off young down here in GA. She is a little nervous about going to a different school this year, but she is ready to be gone all day, everyday. I am just not sure about me being ready. She starts August 2oth. Wish me luck.

Next week we are heading north to Rhode Island to visit with Don's son and then to my home town of Toms River, NJ. I am taking some handmade goodies home for everyone. Here is what I have put together.
I bought the three pack of wooden match boxes and covered them each with designer paper and added sand dollars and ribbon, etc. These are very easy and fun to make. They make a great little hostess gift.
Then I bought some pretty candles in mason jars and covered them to match. It all looks very beachy.
It will all get put together in a matching gift bag and gift tag and taken with love to some of my family and friends.
Well, I am busy planning my 4th of July menu. I will post our star-spangled day before I leave for my trip. I hope you are all having a great summer and enjoy the 4th!

Ooooh, those gifts you are making for everyone are just lovely. I just can't wait to see my "girls".
All three of you!

I remember your first day of kindergarten, and shopping with you for dresses. I remember taking a picture of you by the wishing well with a burgundy pinafore-type dress. Shelby going off to school brings it all back.

Love you, Mom

Those are lovely gifts! You're such a talented lady. I think you'll be sucess in the arts bussiness. You gotta give that AG a run for her money!!!!

I know what you mean about the kiddos growing up so fast. In the blink of an eye it seems to happen. But all we can do is be by their side and enjoy the ride!

Be Careful and tell Shelby she will love Big Girl school!!! If Jones is anything like Bibb, you will be there so much it won't even seem like she is away for so many hours.

love the gifts- nicely done!! You'll get used to Shelby being gone, somehow the days get filled up. It's weird at first, but then OK. I cried the first day Jason got on the bus- he seemed so little.

I like how you decorated the match box and candles & matched them! My son starts JK this year as well and it makes me so sad. Happy 4th!
