Celebrating the 4th!

.It was a hot Georgia day and everyone was ready to celebrate. We got together in our backyard this year with friends and family to enjoy some barbecue and sweets and put on a little fireworks display of our own. Here is Shelby with her two buddies Ansley and Ashlyn. They looked so sweet in their red, white and blue.
Our neighbors Annette and Stan.
Don's Mom and Dad, Mary and Tom.
The kids having fun with Michael in the pool.
We grilled some gourmet burgers from the Fresh Market and went right into the desserts. My SIL Judy hooked me up as usual. She made her world famous chocolate chip cookies and the berry cake.
Don and I added to the sweets table. We made some home made ice cream. Chocolate chip, walnut. It was fab! We have been using Judy's old ice cream maker this summer and making home made ice cream for Friday night Pizza with the family. It has been wonderful! Good thing the Herbalife diet is working!
Here's our little firecracker!
The box of fire works were really fun and the girls had a blast! I hope you all enjoyed your picnics and fireworks. Well, I am finishing the laundry and doing the ironing getting us ready for our trip tomorrow. We will be gone for 10 days and we are looking forward to seeing our family. Enjoy the summer heat!
