I finally made it to the Plum Tree!

Since I first started following Dawn's blog, I have always wanted to go to the Plum Tree Antiques. It is about an hour ride from me, but I never made time to go or to stop during a trip to Atlanta. So, when Lee flew in the Thursday before the Farm Chicks Show, me, Judy and Lee met Dawn at the Plum Tree. It was just wonderful and so worth the trip. It was also a great opportunity to see our buddy Dawn again! The Plum Tree is a quaint, little old house just off the town square in McDonough. Cindy is the owner, operator and she does an outstanding job at displaying all of the vintage goodness and makes some wonderful vignettes.I bought that little wooden shoe you see in this picture. It has a slide out little compartment at the top. This jewelry display is so cute and the burlap is a great contrast to the sparkly baubles.
Judy spotted this bird cage for me and I just gasped. I love the idea for the studio to hold lots of cards. Maybe next visit. I was saving my money for Farm Chicks.
Cindy has created a place that you just want to hang around and linger in. We kept going back into the various rooms to make sure we saw everything. This is no junk shop! Don't get me wrong. I like those, too, but this is a beautiful place to shop and a feast for the eyes.
This window is very clever. It is made to look like a porch awning.
Down in the bottom left corner of this photo is that tiny scale. We loved the glass dome sitting on the top with the tiny treasures inside. It makes a great display!
Mom, I thought of you when I saw this. What a cute way to display your crochet threads under this hurricane globe.
Here is Dawn and Lee talking shop as we say. You know what happens when you get crafters and bloggers together. The ideas start flying!
We enjoyed our walk around inside, each bought a few goodies and then we went outside to check out some of the garden art and displays.
This whole place is just a fun time and full of decorating ideas. The prices were terrific! Check out the Plum Tree blog. Cindy is having some fun contests this summer and chances to win prizes. When Shelby goes back to school this August, I will be grabbing Judy up, calling Dawn and making another run to McDonough.
Dawn, thanks for meeting up with us that afternoon. It was great to see you again! Dawn made each of us these sweet lavendar sachets with these wonderful floral images on them. They smell so wonderful. Thanks, dear friend! See you soon.
