A Day with My Girl

 A few weeks ago during the MLK long weekend, my friend Marla and I took our daughters to the  American Girl Store and Cafe in Atlanta.  We have been wanting to go for awhile and it was a great day.  Marla made the dining reservations and off we went.

 There were crafts and activities for them to do at the store.  This was a paper bird cage and bird.  Super cute and they did a great job doing it by themselves.  Yes, there was a man with a pink shirt leading the craft table.  As in fact there were a lot of men working at the store that day.  Enough for us to take note.

 Here is my Shelby Love holding up her birdcage.  The store is so well done.  It is a shopping meca for these dolls.  Tons of displays of all the dolls and all the paraphenalia.

 Once the crafting was done the shopping began.  They each had a large red bag and started filling it up with lots of accessories.  This is the new girl of the year, "Saige."  The store was crazy busy that day and if there is a recession going on, it hasn't affected the people shopping in this store.  Holy Cow!!!

 Every accommodation is given to the girls and their dolls.  Shelby's doll is hanging on this little rack in the bathroom room.  The dolls hang there while the girls use the potty.  I had to take a picture of that.

 Here is Shelby and her friend Jenny.  This was our table at the cafe.

 Shelby ordered the yummiest berry smoothie ever.  It looked gigantic but she finished the whole thing.

 The cafe is decked out in shades of pink and brown and greens.  I loved this huge flower light fixture.

 

This a counter you can sit at as well.  They serve all kinds of sweet treats.

 The picture isn't clear but I wanted to show you the little chairs that the dolls got to sit in at the table.

Lunch was really delish and we had a blast.  Shelby had dessert and it was a flower pot of chocolate mousse.  They filled the glass pot with chocolate mousse and topped it with Oreo cookie crumble then placed the silk flower in the middle.  It was topped off with little c.c cookies.
They do birthday parties and so I am thinking one or 2 friends and their dolls and lunch.  They have the prettiest pink and white birthday cakes on a white pedestal.  It was a fun day and it was great to watch the girls take interest in something other than their electronics.
