Farm Chicks; Our Experience and the Photo Gallery- Day 1!

I have been home for almost three days now and I am still pinching myself that we were really there! There are so many stories, photos and great people that we met that it has been hard to decide how to go at this post and how to share our experience with you. So, I have decided to share our experience first, then all of the photos from Day 1. Then tomorrow I will post the pictures Day 2 and my Fabulous Finds! Our Experience: From the minute we stepped out of the rental car on the first day of the show until we left on Sunday afternoon, the people we met were absolutely amazing. All of the vendors and all of the bloggers and artists we met were definitely the highlight of the weekend. I want to send a great big Thank You to Kim from Camp Whimsy who was the originator of the Blog Badge idea. It was a great way to meet fellow bloggers and so many gals came up to meet us and check out our badges. Kim and all of the West Coast Ladies we met were absolutely welcoming and warm hearted.
Waiting in line to get in, we chatted with some ladies who of course took our picture in front of the show and Farm Chicks Banner.
The show did not disappoint! I had a headache at the end of both days from being so visually overwhelmed! Eyes darting everywhere, trying to soak it all in. The booths that were created were masterpieces and the detail that many went into was so appreciated and enjoyed. Such as this tag that one vendor created for her goodies. It was an outstanding junkfest! There was a great mix of antiques, vintage collectibles, handmade goods, art, food items. Anyone who liked to junk was in their glory! The pictures we took will hopefully capture all of that and make you feel like you were with us!We were very happy we went and had the chance to see it all. We shopped til we dropped and talked to such fab women until we had sore throats. We learned alot about the show and did see Terry and Serena the "Farm Chicks." We took so many of you with us! Angela, Dawn, Mom, Judy we absolutely thought of you and took some pictures with you in mind.
This trip was the first step in following our dreams and aspirations! Lee and I are working on some plans that we will share with you in hopefully the near future. Until then, sit back and enjoy the pictures.

Picture Gallery, Day 1: Terry and Serena, The Farm Chicks at their new cookbook signing. Too bad they ran out of books to buy in the first half hour. Not good planning.
One of our favorite junk booths!
Karen and Corinne were super to meet. They stayed at the same hotel as us and we bumped into them often. We loved their booth. They had wonderful vintage items. Great prices, too!
Candywinkel was another favorite booth. She has married the prettiest candies and candles with a vintage flair. She gave away free candy necklaces to her customers.
We enjoyed meeting Amy and seeing her goodies. Her outfit was adorable with those matching cowboy boots. She really didn't like having her picture taken but she was a sport about it anyway. Check her out at http://www.candywinkel.com/.Chocolate covered sunflower seeds sewn in to look like vintage flower seed packets.
The vintage linens all across the show were just incredible.
We absolutely loved this idea. This mini greenhouse was made of old windows attached together and placed on an old desk. We so want to try to make one of these for our backyards.
Dawn, you and this lady were kindred spirits. This is the Rusty Bird booth. The artist is Virginia Shawver. Her nests were just gorgeous.
Angela, there is someting you can use those old rusty bed springs for that you have stored. This lady was selling them. She took them and placed nests on top of them and used them in birdcages and for decorating. Very clever. We so thought of you!
The perfect ending to Day 1 at the Show. Our feet were tired, our heads ached, our throats were sore, but we were on a huge high!! We finished day 1 out at Clinkerdaggers in downtown Spokane and had a few cocktails with dinner. Come back to see Day 2 and all of my Fabulous Finds!!

I am so glad that you made it home safely and had so much fun while you were gone! Now that was me being nice...I'm still pouting otherwise. That was a cool idea for the bed springs and there is a lady down the road that has a bunch of bird cages sitting out in her yard( she obviously ran a flea market in the past-pure junk everywhere), I am going to stop and ask abt. them now!!
see ya soon.

It was fun meeting you at the show! Thank you for offering me a ride when my friends skipped out to run some "errands!" They found all sorts of fun stuff and spent at least another hour shopping after stopping to come back and fetch me! I have to admit...I found some cool things too!

I'm happy that you had a great time at the show!
