The Farm Chicks: Day 2 Photo Gallery and Fabulous Finds

Day 2 was just as much fun. The vendors sold alot on Saturday, but went our to their cars, vans and trucks Saturday night and brought in more stuff for day 2 which gave the show another look and feel. The second day was not as crowded so we got to browse with more elbow room and more leisure. We still had to see the last half of the biggest room. So off we went. This is Lisa. She has been a vendor at the Farm Chicks show since the very first show which had only 6 vendors. She was incredibly sweet. She makes jewelry and charms and belt buckles. Lee and I both bought some things from her.
This booth was definitely one of the most elaborate there. Look at the grand piano gutted and covered with music sheets. It was a great display to use.
This is Carrie. She owns and runs a store in Spokane called Top Stitch. She had a very pretty and colorful booth. She sells fabrics and patterns and teaches sewing classes. I wish she lived closer. She would be a great teacher. I bought a skirt pattern from her and will be trying to make my first piece of clothing soon!
Now for my Finds....
Like any show, there were vendors that priced well and some that were out of their minds.
There were alot of big things that we would have loved to have, but didn't want to deal with shipping, so we stuck to the things we could easily take back with us. This was my big splurge. It is a jumper made out of vintage fabrics, trims, lace, hankies and ribbons. I love this piece and will wear it all year round. Here is a picture of the pocket up close. A cute T-shirt and leggings or jeans underneath and I will be all set!I also bought this dress from a coupe of ladies at their booth called Altered Eco. They take gently used clothes and recreate something new. They crochet the tops and add pieces to the bottom. This is a dress crocheted with a neutral and gold silk yarn and then a piece of lined silk was added to the bottom to make the dress.
Here is the top with some eyelash yarn and some vintage bling at the straps. It looked great on and I could not leave it behind. Perfect for the summer weather.
I took home this sweet hand made bird tassel. It is already hanging in my studio from above. Here is the rest of the collection. Lots of vintage lace! A real bargain for most of it.Here is the belt buckle that Lisa made and we found preloved leather belts there at the show for $10. The rose has music and french words around it and the word garden next to it. The old hymn book is from 1902 and the pages are very sheer almost like rice paper. I love it!
The real fabulous finds... all of the wonderful artists, vendors, women we met during our trip. I have a pile of business cards that I need to find a way to display for awhile. There is still a handful of bloggers I need to go visit, too.
We had a wonderful time and the girls out in the northwest US really know how to throw a show. The vendors really make it what it is and we need to get ourselves in gear and get the best East Coast Show going. We have an idea and we are starting to build the plan. Stay tuned...... I hope you enjoyed the pictures.
