Mini Chick and I go head to head almost every morning on what she is going to wear. Yes, she is only 3 1/2 years old and wants to be in total control. I can't imagine where she gets that from. LOL! Anyway, this morning it started out the same. We were getting her ready for school and she heads right for the sun dress and sandals. The last few days have been 75-80 degrees so this wasn't far off, but it turned a bit chilly and rainy over night to about 50 degrees. So I said that she needed something with sleeves and have her legs covered because it was chilly. I put back the sundress which caused her to start whining and then I picked out a long sleeve T, some leggings and a skirt to go over them. Well, I next expected the crying to start or NO, MAMA, but I got something different this morning. "I can't wear that, Mama. (sigh), It's not cool." I looked at her and said , "What?" I didn't no whether to laugh or start crying. She is not supposed to start saying that to me until she is 7 or 8 years old! How did she learn this phrase so quickly and better yet how to use it. Does she really even know what cool means? In her world she does, apparently. You never know what to expect from those little mouths.
All you girls need to say a little prayer for me and this strong willed, stubborn child. I know this will only get worse until she gets a little older and I know that I will have to give up the control eventually, but at 3 1/2 years old?? Not a chance.
By the way, we compromised on a long sleeve dress and socks instead of leggings when all was said and done. I just wish we started there. I am learning. I hope she can be patient with me.

She is so cute! I remember my cousin doing this same thing at a young age - guess it is a girl thing! I'll find out soon enough I'm sure. Hope you are well.

Ask her what I should wear tomorrow LOL...I'd love to be cool! She is just so cute!
I read somewhere to lay out three acceptable outfits, then let them choose.
Thank goodness mine has to wear a uniform. LOL! Her saying is..."I can't wear those, they don't match." Gotta love it, right?
Happy Day!

What a darling you have - a sophisticated darling with a strong will and opinions. What joy and occasionally frustration:-)
