Projects on the go..

I have been in this house for 2 years this month and since moving in I have been wanting to do a mural in my little one's bathroom and bedroom. I finally got it going and it is coming out great! No, I have not been painting this by hand, I don't have that kind of talent. This is wall art produced by a company called Tatouage Designs. I found out about this company through a dear friend of my Mom's. Del has some beautiful pieces done in her Florida home. When I saw it, I couldn't believe it wasn't hand painted. The wall art is based on actual paintings that are created first and then the wall art is produced from it. These creations come out so pretty and they look just like they are hand painted. I started with the bird house on the post and then put up the fence and grass that you see in the first picture. Now I am working on the big piece..This is going to be a flower cart with flowers, butterflies and this cute bunny. Here is the first of 3 sheets that make up this cart. Once the sheet is in place, you just rub the image off onto the wall. It layers beautifully in order to create your own work of art. All of these pieces are sold either together or separately to allow you to decide what you want your creation to look like. It is very easy. It can be sprayed with an acrylic spray to seal it or you can leave it as is. When I get the wall done, I will show you the finished wall. I will be starting her room next. I am doing a spray of vines and flowers up the wall around her bed with birds, butterflies and fairies!

Also in the works is this recent piece I bought. This is an old pine cupboard that needs some work. Once it is cleaned up and painted, it is going in the studio next to the sewing machines. I am going to use it for all my fabrics and sewing notions. I will show you the finished project when it is done.

I also bought an old wooden door with a glass pane and original harware on it. Hubby has it propped in the garage and I can't get a good picture of it now, but that will get dressed up a bit and put in a fun place, too.

Lots of things on the go. I need to get busy getting them done. I hope you are all doing great and have a fun weekend!

You are doing a fabulous job Tammy...isn't it fun? I still have so many pieces set aside to do...I better get busy. (Love that everything has been on sale. I'm helping a friend of mine choose some things}. Looking forward to seeing the finished project with your own special touches. Shelby will just love her special scenery.

Rub-ons for the wall? Now that is ingenious! I finally posted about the Valentine ornaments from Natalea's swap - come see how they look on my Valentine tree. Your mixed media heart is simply adorable!

Your wall is fantastic...how clever. I am not sure that I could do the kit - will check it out.
