Another Thing to Share!

Anyone who has a child has learned very quickly that once you have a child you share everything as a Mother. For 41 weeks I shared my body with her. For 15 months she shared my breasts. When she was sick, I shared my bed with her. As she grew, I shared my drinks and my meals with her. I now share my lipstick and my nailpolish with her. But this sharing came way too soon.....This is my beloved laptop that Don gave me last year when I started blogging, and I have cherished it being ALL MINE!! Well, we have been spending time on the computer with her on and off over the last 6 months, but her tiny hand just could not manage the mouse. Then I found this. This is the tiniest mouse ever and now she is going to town navigating on Playhouse Disney all on her own. I am amazed how much she can do now. Now all I hear, is Mommie, "It's my turn." Oh well, it is my fault for getting her interested in the computer. Wish me luck. A three year old can always manage to get into trouble. Pray for my computer!!

Studio On The Go- Portable Studio Challenge!

The creative Phyllis from Shabby In The City is hosting a challenge today that she graciously invited me to join in on. This is such a unique challenge and it was very fun to put together. Her challenge was to show and tell your portable studio ideas. Then, tell everyone where you take your portable studio and where you craft "off-site." Well, here is my Studio On The Go....This is a special train case that my Mother gave me recently. This was Mom's, given to her on her wedding day over 40 years ago. It has made the perfect carry-all for my crafting goodies.

Let's take a peek inside. This train case has a great divided tray on the top which holds some of my favorite things, while the bottom is very roomy for larger, more practical items.A mirrored lid with a favorite vintage postcard, a Birthday Tag made by my Best Friend and my logo tag, TLu Creations.I lined each section of the tray with vintage hankies.Filled each section with current project items. As the Queen of Bird Tags, I always have a few laying around if I need to make a quick tag for something. Here is the inside of the traincase and I have lined it with a cute button fabric to protect the original lining. Now that you have seen my portable studio and what I am carrying inside, I can now tell you where I am planning to take this repurposed piece of luggage. This will go with me when I work my 2 days a month at the Carriage House. The Carriage House is an Antique and Gifts store that I have a booth at. We each take a day a month to work the shop. Here is a recent picture of my booth.I work this Wednesday and I will be taking supplies along to work on some gifts for my friends...Of course this would never qualify as a studio of any kind if there wasn't a little bit of glitter around!

Many thanks, Phyllis for creating the challenge and for asking me to join in. I had great fun showing you my little Studio on the Go. Go check out the other bloggers participating in the Challenge and then go get your portable studio together. Have Studio, will craft!

Baby, It's COLD Outside!

Can you believe that this picture was taken in Central Georgia? What are we doing wearing all this crap? It is has been unseasonably cold here the last week and it has reached the high 20's. Yuck. We were out last night at Callaway Gardens for the Fantasy in Lights Show. This show was rated in the top 3 light shows on the East Coast. It was so spectacular. If you live in Georgia it is a must see. It really got us into the Christmas spirit.

I only took one picture because the trolley was moving and it was hard to get a focused picture. This trip through the gardens takes 45-50 minutes and it is filled with beautiful scenes and lovely music. Even the cold didn't spoil our evening.

Christmas is coming fast and I am running in high gear to get lots of goodies made for my booth at the Carriage House, Our Etsy Store and our new Lollishops store. Here is a plate full of Gift Tags that are ready to go. There is glitter everywhere!!

Happy Holiday Crafting, ladies. Looking forward to seeing some of your creations.

It's Feeling Like Christmas...

Hi Gals,

Not to rush the Holidays in like most major department stores, but we are having fun getting ready for Christmas! Lee and I are busy making goodies for Lollishops which we will be selling our latest treats on.

Here is a sneak peak at some of the things that I am doing:This was such a fun project. Wouldn't this be the sweetest apron to wear making your favorite Christmas cookies?I just love sewing. I will have to make a few more. This apron also includes a matching gift tag! These gift tags are a work in progress. I wanted to give you a sneak peak at these Christmas birds and nests. There will be 4 different images and they will be getting the prettiest taupe and red polka dot ribbon. Stay tuned.

As most of you know, I also have a booth at a shoppe in town called the Carriage House. My SIL Judy and I have also been busy getting the booth ready for the Christmas shoppers. Here are some of our things we have worked on.These are the prettiest gold sparkly nesting boxes, but when I found them they needed just a little something to make them wow. We added the red sparkly picks to the top and now they are ready to decorate someone's front porch or fireplace hearth.Lots of pretty glass balls and a sweet angel to complete this hand made wreath. This one is filled with old wooden toy ornaments and sparkly christmas balls.
Santa's reindeer and lots of gold jingle bells.
A pillow full of vintage Christmas pins, necklaces and earrings.
Here is my booth full of Christmas cheer. Judy painted all of those Santa heads that you see hanging on the little tree. They came out so great!I hope you are all getting into the spirit of things. We will be sharing lots of Christmas fun here over the coming weeks. Watch out for Lollishops opening at the end of November and I will be having my first big Giveaway in early December in honor of my 1 year of blogging.

See you all soon,

Tammy

What Amazing Friends I Have!!

What a great Birthday I had this past week. It turned out to be a week long celebration. I have to share with you all of the wonderful presents that came from far and near. Lucky, lucky me!These first pictures are of gifts my BFF Lee sent me. What a real treat! This tag is so pretty that she made. It will grace my studio always.Lee had all of the gifts wrapped with these lovely old cloth roses on top. This pretty satin box is so amazing. Most of these boxes were long and narrow to hold ladies gloves, but this one is a square and will hold many more goodies. She included some crafting treats inside. The book in the previous picture "Fashion a-la- Mode" was a real find. Lee tracked this book down because it is no longer in print. She knew I would just love it. Here are some inside looks at this collector's item. This book is full of pop-ups, slide-outs and loose objects that tell stories about the clothing from different time eras and countries.
Thanks, Lee for all of the special gifts you sent.

Next were some gifts from my local gal pals! We celebrated last Saturday night with dinner and a movie. This is a beautiful sterling silver necklace from Annette. This piece is done by an artist that copies wrought iron fence designs from around the South. Just another gesture to make me feel even more at home here. Thanks, Nette for your clever gift!
This sweet hanging picture frame is from Stephanie; my car-pooling, church-going, gynmastic-classing buddy! This already hangs in the studio and will have a picture of the fabulous five placed in it; Me, Steph, Nette, Marla and Suzanne. Thank so much Steph!
Now Suzanne certainly got this gift right. She lives across the street from me and watches all the company come and go from my place. I love this hostess set. It has this neat fleur-de-lis ceramic piece that sits on the top to hold the napkins in place. This will certainly come in handy here, Suzanne. Thanks for the great gift.

This next goody box came from the super talented and generous, Natalea.
Natalea lives in Hamburg, NY and we have been blogging buddies for some time now. I hope I get to meet her face to face one day soon!Natalea filled the box with yummy candies, a pretty birthday sign, a handmade notepad and this silver beauty. This is a lovely hand made pin cushion nestled in this old silver pitcher. It matches my studio perfectly and is at home on my sewing table. Thanks, Natalea for taking the time to make such wonderful things for my birthday. Hugs to you!!

I am not done yet...
Yesterday, we took a day trip with my parents and my SIL Judy to Savannah. I got to pick out my birthday present from Mom and Dad at the Vintage General.
These glistening vintage reproductions are amazing. I am so in love with this Christmas House and bottle tree. I am putting it up in my studio for Christmas along with my silver Christmas tree that I am still looking for. The owner of the Vintage General let me take pictures of her display. It is like dying and going to Vintage Christmas Heaven. Look at this collection of goodies.. Just so lovely to look at. Such Christmas splendor!
Speaking of Savannah, my Southern Diva Blogging Buddy, Tam really surprised me by sending a box of gifts for me. She also created a post on her blog in honor of me for my Birthday. You rock, girl. Here are the treats she sent.
For someone I have never met, she found a collection of things that are truly me; embroidered hankies, cherub heart tins, a rubber stamp with a crown, delicious box of tea, a vintage inspired 2009 calendar, an enamel and crystal cross and then this..
A glass martini ornament. When I host my first Get Away Weekend, you are going to mix your famous martini's for all of us. Many sincere thanks for thinking of me Tam, and for your thoughtful gifts.

Just when you thought my Birthday celebration was over. I was treated to this beautiful creation:
Sherry Rose Bella my fellow vendor at the Carriage House and local southern belle made this gorgeous embellished bottle.
I love the top of this piece. Sherry thank you so much for your creative gift. You did such an amazing job with this project. It is so me!
Well, my lovelies thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your thoughtful gifts. My life would not be the same without all of you. You all make me very happy and I am proud to call you my friends!
Big Hugs and Kisses,
Tammy
