Studio On The Go- Portable Studio Challenge!

The creative Phyllis from Shabby In The City is hosting a challenge today that she graciously invited me to join in on. This is such a unique challenge and it was very fun to put together. Her challenge was to show and tell your portable studio ideas. Then, tell everyone where you take your portable studio and where you craft "off-site." Well, here is my Studio On The Go....This is a special train case that my Mother gave me recently. This was Mom's, given to her on her wedding day over 40 years ago. It has made the perfect carry-all for my crafting goodies.

Let's take a peek inside. This train case has a great divided tray on the top which holds some of my favorite things, while the bottom is very roomy for larger, more practical items.A mirrored lid with a favorite vintage postcard, a Birthday Tag made by my Best Friend and my logo tag, TLu Creations.I lined each section of the tray with vintage hankies.Filled each section with current project items. As the Queen of Bird Tags, I always have a few laying around if I need to make a quick tag for something. Here is the inside of the traincase and I have lined it with a cute button fabric to protect the original lining. Now that you have seen my portable studio and what I am carrying inside, I can now tell you where I am planning to take this repurposed piece of luggage. This will go with me when I work my 2 days a month at the Carriage House. The Carriage House is an Antique and Gifts store that I have a booth at. We each take a day a month to work the shop. Here is a recent picture of my booth.I work this Wednesday and I will be taking supplies along to work on some gifts for my friends...Of course this would never qualify as a studio of any kind if there wasn't a little bit of glitter around!

Many thanks, Phyllis for creating the challenge and for asking me to join in. I had great fun showing you my little Studio on the Go. Go check out the other bloggers participating in the Challenge and then go get your portable studio together. Have Studio, will craft!

Tammy! I love the train case idea! And it was a wedding gift to your mother...wasn't that such a sweet gift?!
The insides look yummy too...I'm following you to the antique mall! (I started to do mine in our flea mkt...but it wasn't open yesterday and I had no pics)

Excuse me for I have just drooled all over your train case! You are brilliant and I am so dumping all of my makeup out of the one I keep in my bathroom and turning it into something way more important!

We both have portable craft studios made from train cases! Yours is much prettier than mine. I love how you lined yours. And you filled it with gorgeous elements!!

I love this case and how cool that it was your mom's on her wedding day. I just have to make up stories that go with my stuff and of course when I get old I won't be able to tell fact from fiction! I will be in Gray on Wednesday right next door to you at Treasures by the Tracks so I will stop in and say hi!!

what a great case Tammy! Just the other day my mom was in my craft room and said "it's a good thing you don't travel with your art stuff, or your car would look out of control!". I suppose if I had a travel case as nice as this she wouldn't think so! I tend not to take my crafts on the road, but if I made up a nice case I'd probably have fun crafting at all different kinds of places! thanks for showing us! xo

What an awsome way to carry all of your crafty stuff! And the fact that it has sentimental value only adds to it. Great post, thanks for sharing it.

Loved this post and the idea of showing your portable crafting studio. When I used to be in a brick and mortar antique shop, when it was my turn to work I took a portable craft tote along too....only mine wasn't pretty like yours. Mine was just a plastic grocery bag. LOL HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Just love how you've put "our" train case together! Make sure you know there is a little
"essence of love" tucked inside, wherever you go. I'm thrilled to see how beautifully you've put it all together. That's My Girl.
Love you always, Mom
