My Best Friend is Published!!
Lee has had some fortune shine upon her and her lovely artwork recently! She and a group of women participated in a Valentine Book Swap last year and Somerset got a hold of them and developed an entire publication just to showcase these lovely works of art. They called it Somerset in Love.
This is such a gorgeous collection of Valentine and love themed pages. I have included all of Lee's pages and artwork here for you to enjoy. I am so PROUD of her! It takes guts to jump into a well established group of artists like this bunch. Her work really stands out among this group and is uniquely, Lee!
Lee shared this layout with me last year and it still is my favorite. Who doesn't love champagne? Somerset did fail to really capture the true creativity of this piece. The dress was made of tulle and fabric with a heart peeking out from underneath. The champagne bottle was the best of all. She added ribbons to the bottle to look like flowing bubbles of champagne. Just awesome.
Lee's artwork always tells a story. I think it is the writer in her always trying to get out. This new bride is actually in a straight jacket relating her sense of being trapped or maybe showing that she is tied to this man she may hardly know. If you look at the center of the page there is a small bottle of glitter and a label that says "Love Potion No.9" Lee had sent one to each participant during the swap and they are featured on almost every page of this book!
This layout is such a sweet piece. This was the last of Lee's layouts that they featured, except for her book cover.
Lee got to write a short article talking about her involvement in the swap as well as her artwork.
At the end of the publication, they did a Meet the Artist section and here she is! This is her moment and her artwork and the Love actually mentions me, her BFF! Can't believe it. Actually I can. That's the kind of friend she is! Go visit Lee at Weber's World, The Way I see It and congratulate her on her accomplishment and all of her awesome artwork!

Seeing Friends at this Joyous Time of Year!
We each brought 8 dozen of our special cookies along with recipe cards so we could add these new recipes to our own kitchens.
Trina planned a lovely party. She had the savory goodies first with soft drinks and they were delicious. We all commented on her hot artichoke dip. Need that recipe, too! We chatted and mingled and enjoyed her pretty Christmas tree.
I brought Trina a little hostess gift. This is the prettiest bottle of sparkling pink lemonade imported from France. It is as yummy as the outside of this bottle.
Each ornament has bits of reminders: family, hope, friendship, peace, believe, love, faith.
I came home with 8 dozen delicious cookies hand made with love by 8 Southern women. We will enjoy these treats with our family and friends this holiday season. Many thanks to you, Trina for hosting a great cookie swap and for all of your hard work!
The surprise of the weekend came when I was at the Street Fair in Downtown Gray. While checking out the various vendor tables, I spotted a true crafters table! I said to my SIL Judy, "This looks like my friend Angela's goodies." I no sooner looked up and she was throwing a big hug my way. Angela is a fellow crafter and blogger that lives in Macon. It was so good to see her and wish her a Merry. Look what I bought from her...
Well, y'all that's all for now. I hoped you enjoyed the pictures and story of my weekend. I hope you are all finding some unexpected JOY this holiday season.

If you don't know her already, Susan Tuttle is an incredibly talented artist and she is sharing with us her new book, Exhibition 36: Mixed-Media Demonstrations + Explorations that just got released this month. Outside of my friend Lee, Susan was the first blogger that I got to know after winning her One Heart One World Valentine Banner last year. I have followed her blog ever since. She is so excited about the launch of her new book that she has posted a giveaway on her blog to win a copy! Get over there before next Tuesday, Dec.16th and leave her a comment to congratulate her and maybe you will be the lucky winner of her book. If you are not the lucky winner next Tuesday, go get the perfect Christmas gift for yourself!

A Ball of Fun
Yesterday, I was lucky enough to find 5 hours of uninterrupted time in my studio! I spent half of that time cleaning up and vacuuming up there because it was so upside down, but I did manage to get a few gifts made.
I made these Christmas Balls for a few friends of mine. I saw a version of these in Somerset Life, but I added some buttons and glitter to the ball as well as the words of inspiration. They came out really cute.
I hope that each year when they bring them out to put on their trees, they will think of me and our friendships!
I also finished this set of Christmas Tree gift tags. You can find these and some of our other goodies on Lollishops!
Well, I am off to try and finish my Christmas Cards so I can send them off soon. I hope you are all enjoying the Holiday hurry! See you all soon.Love,
Tammy
