Photo Fun

What do these three photos have in common? They are all the same photo with different effects applied to them. When I got my new laptop for Valentine's Day, it came with Corel Paint Shop Pro photo software. So I have been having fun playing around with some of the functionality. Here are three fun pics to look at. I look forward to learning how this program works and ultimately be able to present some more interesting photos.

Sew Sweet

I have been wanting to cozy up my sewing corner and on Wednesday of last week I spent some time with it. I bought some tulle and other goodies like the wrought iron hooks to make a soft little curtain in the window and a sweet place to put up some of the things that I like to look at all of the time.

The corner is defintely more cozy and very inviting. I can still look out and see the lake in the back yard. Maybe I will get inspired now to complete my list of sewing projects.

Sweet regards on the day.
Love,
Tammy

First "Girls Night In"!

As I previously mentioned, we have been in Georgia a year and it has taken me that long to get a group of neighborhood girls over for a "Girls Night In." 5 of us ladies got together at my house for a craft and crop. Me, Annette, Suzanne, Stephanie and Marla all live in the same neighborhood and have that and all daughters in common. Except Suzanne who has a son and a daughter. This makes for many swapped parenting stories and a good laugh or two. We did everything from organizing digital photos, to recipe organizing, scrapping and writing out Thank-you's. It was all good. We have planned our second Girls Night In and have agreed to try and get together monthly taking turns at each others homes. The only thing I wanted to do but forgot was to take pictures of the group. I will have to get us all in action next time. It was good getting together for girl talk. I'm looking forward to the next time and getting to know each of them better!
This sweet little card and ring with my initial was a special surprise from Suzanne tonight. The envelope pictured above was a perfect little logo for tonight's group! Thanks Suzanne, it is lovely!
Suzanne brought a whole big sample of her layouts. Her scraping is awesome. She is truly talented.

1 Year in Georgia!

One year ago today we were standing in Gray, Georgia watching the movers unload the truck and trying to keep Shelby out of the way. This pic below was the week before waiting for the movers to load. This is what was in the yard. I miss all of our friends, but I don't miss all of that white stuff.
When we landed back in the U.S. it felt like anything but home. But when we got here in Georgia on a sunny day, I kicked off the snow boots and never looked back. We have loved moving here and we are closer to family after spending almost ten years in Canada. I have made several friends that have helped with the transition and Shelby has many, many playmates. We had a lot of visitors our first year here and it made it so much easier to adjust. Thanks to all who made the trip. It is now my goal to get as many people/friends/family to move closer. I have included a few pics of the Georgia home. These are only pics from the outside. I will add another post sometime of all the work we did on the inside. Until then, Y'all come and see us for a little southern hospitality when you can!

Sending you all a BIG hug today!

Love,

Tammy

The Sweetest Little Book..

I stumbled onto this sweet little book yesterday at B&N. It was created by Vicky Howard who is a collector of vintage postcards. She has a collection in the thousands. She created this book of lovely "Happiness" quotes from notable persons and placed them along side pictures of her vintage postcards. They are mostly birds as you can see from the cover. I have already scanned some of the pics and have used them to make a cute decorated tag for my studio.Run to get this book. It made me smile all day!

An Artist's Creed;

"Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort."

Here is my inspiring creation:
Wishing you thoughts of happiness today!

Spring is Near...

The Georgia groundhog saw his shadow earlier this month and we are getting our Spring early. The daffodils are blooming already and there are buds on the trees. I keep reminding myself that it is still only February. Easter is so early this year that it even feels like Spring just thinking about all of the egg and bunny goodies I want to get started on.

This is a picture of a little nest that Don found in the yard this past Fall. It has been perched on a wall hanging with this resin bird in my kitchen. It has inspired me to think of Spring and Easter and to try and make some new things I haven't tried before. Stay tuned.

For those of you in cold country, I hope that the sun is shining today and you get a little inspired by my little nest as well.

Love to All,
Tammy

Happy Valentine's Day, My Sweets!

What a fun but, busy day. We just finished with dinner and Shelby is in her jammies and in bed at 6pm. We are hoping she is down for the evening. The bad thing about this is she will be up early.
I wanted to share some pictures and gifts from the day. We hope that all of you had a wonderful day and were able to spend some time with the ones you love!

The End of An Era

It was a sad day on Monday. We deconstructed Shelby's crib for her new big girl bed. The back and front panels of her crib are now her head board and foot board for a full size bed. I was moved in thinking how fast this time went and that she is no longer my baby, but a litle girl.

She loves her new bed and is sleeping great in it. She is now sleeping to at least 7am. I managed to find cute bedding that is machine washable and didn't cost me a small fortune. Not being potty trained yet and still under the age of 5, there are bound to be accidents. Here are a few pics of her new bed and her room.

You Make 40 Something Look Good!

Happy Birthday, Best Friend! Today is Lee's Birthday and as usual we are too far apart to celebrate it together. We had a phone interlude this afternoon, but it is just not the same. Therefore, this post is for you, buddy!

This photo was taken at the beach in the Outer Banks this past October on our Girls Getaway Weekend. We had a blast!

I hope you had a wonderful day, Lee. You deserve it. Thank you for always being the best friend a girl could ever ask for. Miss you and love you, soul sister! I hope I look this good when I am your age. Hee-Hee! Oh yeah, I am your age.

Just us being goofy as usual.

I tried something new for Lee's birthday present this year. I actually tried my hand at painting. It is really a mixed media that included painting, sewing, and stamping.

Here is a picture of the painting as well as her Birthday card that is a small hanging decoration. I have been dying to post this project since I finished it but I had to let Lee see it first!

Beautiful Valentine Banner

Lucky Me! As part of the One Heart, One World Valentine Giveaway I was the lucky winner of this blog banner you see above. I hope you all enjoy. Thank you again, Susan. To see more of Susan's creative talents visit her blog site at http:\\ilkasattic.blogspot.com. You can also find her blog on my Links. Recipe Swap Cover

I mentioned a few posts ago about a Calendar Recipe Swap that 6 of us gals are doing. We are each doing 2 recipes and a cover. I decided to start with the cover since I haven't been inspired to pick my recipes for January and July, yet. So, below is a preview of my cover and of more things to come. I hope the lucky receiver will enjoy it!

From Blogsome to Blogspot

Hello All,

As you have seen from my previous blog, we have made the decision to switch from blogsome to blogspot. For various reasons, mostly because it is more user friendly and offers better functionality.

Sorry for the move and address change, but I think it will be worth it. I have transferred some of my posts, but since I only started the blog at blogsome at the end of December, there was not much lost.

Leaving a comment has changed in that you have to create a Google account. Just follow the directions after you type in the comment to choose a username and password. Each time you leave a comment, you just type in your username and password and your comment will be added to my post. If you need some help, email me at trcl9346@earthlink.net.
